Gerry Horkan

The inaugural meeting of the Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly  was held in Dublin City Council Chamber, City Hall, Dame Street, Dublin 2 , on Friday, 16th January 2015.

At the meeting, Councillor Gerry Horkan was elected to chair the new Assembly. Councillor Horkan, from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. Councillor Horkan having initially been co-opted to the County Council in 2003 has subsequently held his seat in the local elections of 2004, 2009 and 2014.

Councillor Mick Cahill, from Longford County Council was elected as Leas-Cathaoirleach for the Assembly.
